Communities of the Dehcho Region in the Northwest Territories (NWT) are working together to achieve greater self-reliance by harnessing the clean power provided by the sun, the forest, and the land that has always sustained Dene people.

2014 Renewable Energy ForumThe 2014 Renewable Energy Forum was held in Fort Providence, NWT, and had about 60 participants, including Dehcho First Nations Chiefs and Elders, community representatives (band office/municipal staff, youth delegates) and a variety of technical and community resource people.

Purpose of the forum

The forum’s purpose was to provide opportunities for community leaders and other engaged residents to learn and share experiences in order to make more informed decisions to provide clean, reliable energy for their communities.

Agenda

The forum’s agenda includes links to presentations and handout materials, as well as contact information for the resource people who are available to help Dehcho communities achieve their clean energy goals.
